MISSION

So what is all this..

First off, my name is Reggie Draper. I’m a borderline insane Mechanical Engineer and Car Enthusiast from the dirty south state of Louisiana, currently residing in Houston, TX.  To simplify this, let’s start by putting the high level shrubbery out there…I love cars, music, and culture, and the goal of AutoRave is to bring both car enthusiast and non-car enthusiast alike into my crazy world. Point blank.

I’ve been a car nut since I can remember, and since my family tells me that I made a habit of pointing out vehicle makes and models in my child seat all day, I feel like that’s enough to reinforce my chest pounding. But moving on…

In my world, automobiles aren’t just machines. They’re a way of life, a culture, even a pet in some ways. For many of us, cars are embedded in our daily routine, and while its simply a mode of transportation for some, for others its more.  For those like me it’s a getaway, a passion, something to look forward to and something to lust. For the spawning youth it can be a dream or even a symbol of hope that gives them energy to create.   So why the hell should we not make it important to waste a lot of time talking about cars? I’m pretty much convinced that’s why I’m on this earth.

AutoRave is here to cover the culture of cars, and there are a few things that make that up.  People, Engineering, Drive, Design, Art, and Noise.  If you haven’t gathered it by now, cars are an art-form in my book.  The engineering pushes our senses, the drive summons us, the design and artistry promote our lust, the people behind them transfer their energy and push the industry’s directon , and the noise connects us to the machine.

By the way..that noise is music and music is one thing that connects humans around the world. It’s an international language, and that is why AutoRave Drive Noise is a big deal.   Check out the Drive Noise page for more info on that!

So without going overboard, AutoRave is here to bring all of this together in an automotive gumbo.  I’ll be conducting road tests, track tests, car culture events, and more…we’re doing it all.  Stay tuned!
